Great article, we live in exciting times! It’s good to have reminders that while the world carries on fussing over politics humans continue to make tremendous progress in spite of it.

Also, I love Andrew McCarthy’s work, truly remarkable! 🪐🛰️🔭📷

Another very important finding for multiple myeloma patients.

“New results from the two-part, double-randomized, German-speaking Myeloma Multicenter Group (GMMG)-HD7 phase 3 study show that Sarclisa (isatuximab) in combination with lenalidomide, bortezomib, and dexamethasone (RVd) during induction therapy in transplant-eligible, newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) from first randomization, resulting in a statistically significant and clinically meaningful reduction in disease progression…”.

Good news! Interesting that this and Daratumumab both target CD38, any idea why using both versus a larger dose of one improves things?

They’re both anti CD38 agents but they bind to different epitopes on the molecule. This gives them somewhat different mechanisms of action. I could be mistaken but I think that isatuximab can directly induce apoptosis in myeloma cells while daratumumab requires a cross linking agent to promote apoptosis. Both drugs are highly effective. Despite the fact that they target different epitopes, because they are both aimed at CD38, as far as I know, they are not typically given in combination.

It would be interesting to see them given in combination. I'm a big believer that a "silver buckshot" approach is the way to deal with cancer.

I always love it when someone says "you will never walk again" and someone else says "Nonsense! We will make you so mobile that you can carry the Olympic torch or even get DISQUALIFIED from the Olympics for having too much of an advantage!"

As a matter of fact, we CAN rebuild him, and we DO have the technology. And it costs a lot less than six million dollars.

It's only a matter of time before there's 3 levels of Olympics. Paralymics, Olympics, and Enhanced Olympics. Eventually the Paralymics will dissappear entirely.

Exciting news! It's nice to be reminded.

I believe that we are endowed by our Creator to have dominion over the universe, at least to the extent that we are the only creatures with our level of development.

Of course, we should act in sustainable and positive ways, and at the very least not tinkle in the well.

For sure! One day I hope to start a company working to extend human dominion over nature.
