The length isn't too much of a problem, as long as there are sufficient headings and subheadings/titles to make it easy to sort through and pick out items of greater interest.
Which was (and is) the format I aim for. Exactly as you say, let's people pick what interests them. It's also easier to write than a single topic essay of that length.
Plus it's something I really enjoy doing, and gives me a good excuse to keep up on all the latest.
